"The real voyage of discovery consists not in seeking new lands but in seeing with new eyes"
Marcel Proust

Scenario writing is a powerful tool to support learning, reflection and innovation in education!

Scenarios can create new perspectives on the future of (teacher) education in a changing society, stimulating reflection, creativity and imagination. Scenarios can be helpful both for deciding on institutional or (inter)national policies on (teacher) education and for facilitating the individual learning processes of teachers and teacher educators as well as organisational learning processes.

On this website you can find information on

  • the use of future scenarios
  • how to make future scenarios
  • examples of future scenarios for (teacher) education
  • scenarios as a learning and reflection tool
  • teaching guidelines and course documentation for an in-service course on scenario writing

Thinking about the future involves uncertainty. It can also lead to pessimism about the direction (teacher) education is heading towards. However, it can also inspire and stimulate creativity.

We hope that this website, the scenario examples, the course materials and publications shows something of the energy, inspiration, creativity and enthusiasm we experienced during the past years. We hope that we might inspire other people to make their own scenarios about a future yet to come.
